Following the Vento Bands Consultation discussing the damages for injury to feelings and psychiatric injury, the Presidents of the Employment Tribunal in England & Wales, and Scotland have released a Joint Response setting out the new bands to any claims issued on or after 11th September 2017.

Full details of the response can be found here but the new bands will be as follows:-

  • lower band (less serious cases): £800 to £8,400
  • middle band: £8,400 to £25,200
  • upper band (the most serious cases): £25,200 to £42,000
  • exceptional cases: over £42,000

The bands were formally set out in the Joint Presidential Guidance and will be reviewed in March 2018 and annually thereafter.
