Laura studied law at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, following which she attended the BPP Law School in London where she completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction.
Laura underwent her training contract with a large International Law Firm, where she worked on a number of high profile cases, and qualified as a solicitor specialising in Employment Law in 2010. Following this Laura moved closer to home to join the large regional law firm, Shakespeares (now Shakespeare Martineau) where she gained more experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law. Laura then spent over six years as in-house legal counsel for an international PLC with over 70,000 employees advising the business on all aspects of the employment lifecycle, from contractual negotiations, to employee relations support through to exit negotiation. From this role Laura gained experience of trade union negotiation and organisational change, including advising on changing the terms and conditions of several thousand employees.
Laura has experience across a number of sectors including telecommunications, customer service, engineering, retail and motoring. Laura has extensive experience of Employment Tribunal claims, having conducted advocacy successfully in the Employment Tribunal on several occasions including several multi-day complex discrimination claims. Laura has obtained her Higher Rights of Audience accreditation.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys most sports, time at the gym, playing with her children and wine!
