Having gained a 2.1 (hons) degree in business studies with law at Salford University, a diploma in legal studies at Birmingham University and a postgraduate diploma in legal practice (with commendation) at the College of Law, Edward then undertook his training contract at a regional heavyweight law Firm, after which he joined Astons.
He was admitted as a solicitor in January 2005 and became a Partner in October 2005. During October 2008 to September 2010, Edward undertook a Masters course in employment law at the University of Surrey, which he did part time outside of his work for the Firm. Edward successfully achieved an LLM in employment law with distinction.
Edward has specialised in employment law since qualification. In that time, Edward has advised both business clients as well as private individuals on all aspects of employment law. For corporate clients ranging from multi national companies to small businesses, Edward has provided advice on non contentious matters such as re-organisations, employment law practices and procedures and family rights as well as acting for his clients in contentious matters in Employment Tribunals across the UK. Edward also has a wealth of experience advising employees on their employment rights within the workplace, including dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, breach of contract, maternity leave, settlement agreements etc as well as acting for employee clients in Employment Tribunals.
Edward’s understanding of the complexities of business gained through his Business Studies degree course coupled with his specialist knowledge of employment law enables him to put his clients work place problems and issues in context and offer practical advice on complicated matters. In doing so, Edward is focused on ensuring that the needs of all his clients are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Edward is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and outside of work enjoys playing and watching most sports and for his sins he is a Leicester City supporter.
